Process

For two months, we’ll take you out of your regular routine and bring you into the startup environment of TechHub Bucharest, where you’ll get loads of learning, working and growing done. But first, here are the main things you need to know to get there!

Program Timeline

Application deadline, selection announcement, period you have to be in Bucharest – make sure you get these dates highlighted in you calendar!

Criteria

Grow your chances of getting accepted: make sure you fit our selection criteria and keep the evaluation criteria in mind when you do those final tweaks on your plans and fill out the application form!

Selection

To participate in MVP Academy, startups must fit the following profile:

• The project must be in its first 2 years of activity
• Must have at least one co-founder from CEE and at least part of the team residing in CEE
• Must present at least a working prototype to the selection team
• Must have raised a maximum of 50k EUR in funding
• Must not have a prior acceleration experience for the current project

Evaluation

We will be evaluating applicant startups based on the following criteria:

• Team fit & experience
• Market size & trend
• Market validation & traction
• International potential and impact
• Overall feasibility (ex. scalability, customer acquisition cost)

Jury

To help us make the best startup evaluations and get THE best teams into our program, we’ll be taking advantage of our external judges expertise.

1. Bogdan Iordache

   Co-founder & CEO, How to Web

   Bogdan is a co-founder and the CEO of How to Web. He also co-founded TechHub Bucharest – coworking space for the tech community in Bucharest, TechAngels – Romanian tech business angels network and Conectoo – email marketing platform. In 2013, he served as the program manager for Springboard’s IoT cohort and he also serves as mentor and referrer to various accelerators across Europe like TechStars, Seedcamp, Rockstart and Eleven.

2. Cosmin Ochisor

   Liaison Manager, hub:raum

   Experienced in a wide variety of business fields within or near Telecom industry: Directory Services, Value Added Services and general new business development. Extensive experience as well in re-organization/outsourcing processes, M&A and working with multi-skilled international teams. Product manager experienced in product development, marketing communication (ATL&BTL), rolling-out new products on the market.

3. Zoli Herczeg

   Business Evangelist, Microsoft (Romania)

   Zoli is a long time evangelist at Microsoft Romania. He used to be a geek but still is a fan of business intelligence, security and agile development. Now he is helping startups and established software shops be successful in the cloud by refining their business models and operations.

4. Cristi Badea

   Co-founder & CPO, MavenHut

   Cristi is an online gaming expert & entrepreneur with over 5 years experience in social gaming. He has handcrafted and self-published dozens of social games on Facebook and been responsible over the years for top titles, that reached over 15 million players throughout the world. Cristi is the guy behind the mechanics of Solitaire Arena, the one that crunches numbers for breakfast in order to create the best games MavenHut can create.

5. Monica Obogeanu

   Program Manager, MVP Academy

   Monica is the COO of How to Web and Program Manager of MVP Academy and Startup Spotlight programs. She is a Computer Science graduate, having done various jobs in the past from tech customer support, network and website administration or software testing to community management.
